摘要 符号的象似性是与任意性相对的一种语言特征。象似性理论认为,语言形式和意义之间存在着必然联系,语言符号的形成是有理据的。象似性在词汇方面的表征主要体现在语音、词形、词义、词序四个方面,其中语音和词素象似属于直接象似,词义和词序象似属于间接象似。在词汇学习中,学习者应合理运用象似性理论,将主观思维与客观世界关联,实现其优化学习效率、提高词汇记忆力的助动作用。 Iconicity, a basic feature of linguistic symbols in contrast to arbitrariness, emphasizes that symbolic signifiers and signified are motivated. This paper, based on previous researches on iconicity by scholars both at home and abroad, has analyzed iconicity in vocabulary from the following aspects of phonetics, morphology, semantics and word order, aiming to discuss the aiding effects of iconicity on vocabulary acquisition. The analysis shows that English vocabulary is iconically and cognitively motivated. In the end, suggestions are provided to help learners to make appropriate use of iconicity while acquiring vocabulary to improve their learning efficiency.
