清代江西新建县宾兴会述略

The Compendium of Binxing Foundation in Xin Jian County of Jiang Xi Province

新建县宾兴会又称宾兴馆,成立于清道光二十五年(1845),是本县乡绅为了支助本县举人参加会试以及优贡、拔贡进京而建立的一种民间助学助考组织。其经费来自捐款和息钱,息钱的绝大部分用于助学助考。在运作上有一套严密的经营管理制度和详细具体的助学规定,在资助举子应试、培养人才、振兴文教方面功不可没。对当今的教育发展以及构建和谐社会均有所借鉴和启示。

Binxing foundation of Xin Jian County which was set up in 25 years-Daoguang （1845） of Qing dynasty, was also known as Binxing Guan. It is a folk study-aiding and examination-aiding organization established by squires to suppport the county＇s Juren （former second degree candidate in the provincial examination） in participating the provincial examination and financing you-Gong and Ba-gong to Beijing for national exam. Its fund is from contributions and interest money, most of interest money is for supporting the test. It has a strict management system and specific provisions for study-aiding and examination-aiding, which did great contributions to many aspects such as financing the exam-oriented students, personnel training, revitalizing culture and education. Now it can be used as a source of reference and enlightenment for current development of education and building a harmonious society.
