The Whole Story of False Accusation of Su Yuanchun

苏元春于光绪二十九年七月(1903年9月)因"克扣兵饷、纵匪殃民"获罪,然而两项罪名皆属莫须有。苏元春"克扣兵饷"实为广西边防建设筹措经费;"纵匪殃民"的真相为同情中法战争后被遣散的散兵游勇,主张招抚,将招募的游勇编成军,充实边防建设力量。

Su Yuanchun was born in Yonganzhou County of Guangxi. In September 1903, the 29th year of Emperor Guangxu＇s reign, he was accused of pocketing solders＇ pay and colluding with the bandits, which were pure fabrication. Su Yuancun collected the money for the construction of Guangxi＇s frontier defense. Because of his sympathy for the soldiers disbanded after the Sino-French War, Su Yuancun recruited them into army to join in the frontier defense and construction.
