Association Between Wu Rongguang and Weng Fanggang in Drawing

吴荣光是清代嘉、道年间广东著名的鉴藏家,亦以书画名世。吴荣光的书画收藏、鉴赏观念的形成主要受到当时北京书画圈的领袖人物翁方纲的影响。通过讨论吴荣光与翁方纲在书画艺术方面交往的三个议题:宋代书画、元代书画、明代书画,进而以点带面揭示出翁方纲对吴荣光书画收藏、鉴赏、技法等方面的影响,同时也可以使我们清楚地了解到吴荣光在北京书画圈的生活境遇及其书画艺术思想渊源。

Wu Rongguang, a well-known collector of Guangdong during the Jiaqing and Daoguang Periods in Qing Dynasty, was also famous for calligraphy and drawing in the world. The formation of his view about collection and appraisal was mainly influenced by Weng Fanggang, who was the leader in the Beijing calligraphy and drawing circle at the time. The article discusses the association between Wu Rongguang and Weng Fanggang from three aspects： the Song Dynasty drawings, the Yuan Dynasty drawings and the Ming Dynasty drawings, and points out the influence of Weng Fanggang on Wu Rongguang in drawing collection, appraisal and skill. At the same time, the article makes clear the life of Wu Rongguang in Beijing drawing circle and the origin of his ideas about calligraphy and drawing.
