Development and Prospects of Diversified Economy in the Coal Sector

总结了党的十四大以来，煤炭多种经营步入稳定发展时期，经营的规模和质量取得的较大增长，及其对调整和优化煤炭企业的经济结构起到的作用。确定了煤炭多种经营的指导思想，以十五大精神为指针，以经济效益为中心，加快企业产权制度改革和机制转换。并提出了1998年多种经营工作的目标及措施。

Since the Fourteenth NationalCongress of the C. P. C., the diversified economy of China's coal sector has been enjoying a stabledevelopment in that its size and service quality have been improving on a significant scale which played apositive role in the readjustment and optimization of the economic structure of China's coal sector. With anestablished guiding principle for diversified economy in the coal sector and the spiritual essence of theFifteenth National Congress of the C. P' C' as guidance, the diversified economy of China's coal sector isfaced with the task of further reforms centering around improved economic returns, a quickened enterprisesownership reform and the transformation of enterprise operation mechanism. The article also gives an accountof the goals and measures set for the coal sector's diversified economy in 1998.
