Review and Expectation on Design of Residential Tower in Beijing

塔式高层住宅是解决人地关系矛盾、丰富城市景观的主要建筑形式之一。本文将北京地区塔式高层住宅的发展分为4个阶段,分析了其在各阶段发展变化的原因及设计特点。在此基础上归纳总结出塔式高层住宅特有的优势、当前所面临的困境及改进设计的基本思路。

Residential tower is a main architectural solution of how to solve the contradiction between the human being and the earth land, furthermore, enrich the urban landscape. In this paper, the whole development of residential tower in Beijing is classified into 4 phases. The causes of each phase and the related design characteristics are analyzed following here too. On the base of the analysis, we sum up and conclude the advantages and disadvantages and point out the problems which the residential tower is facing, moreover, the basic design strategies of how to improve the residential tower are also proposed here.
