Research on the Application of GPS in Orienteering

GPS是由空间卫星、地面控制及用户设备构成的具有在海、陆、空进行全方位实时三维导航与定位能力的新一代卫星导航与定位系统。近年来GPS技术被广泛运用于定向运动的新项目开发、地图绘制、赛事直播、训练追踪等领域。文章回顾整理了GPS技术在定向运动开展中的应用,同时就目前存在的问题进行总结,并对运用前景提出了展望。

The Global Positioning System （GPS） is made up of the satellites, gound control centers and the receiver. With this system, it is possible to pinpoint a subject＇s location on earth and help for the navigation. In recent years, GPS was widely used in orienteering with developing new displine, mapping,live broadcast and live tracking, h made a summary of the advantage and shortage in the current application of the GPS in orienteering. It also forecasts the future on the GPS usage in the sport.
