在简要介绍了中国衡器的发展历史后,对电子皮带秤的前身——机械式皮带秤和机电结合式皮带秤作了简短介绍,然后以详尽的资料回顾了中国电子皮带秤发展的历史。其中最早的几个标志性事件是:1964年确定了由北京起重运输机械研究所承担研发电子皮带秤的课题;1965年课题组在首钢烧结厂配料车间进行了现场试验;1967年年初完成样机试制任务并在吉林长春第一汽车厂自备电厂输煤系统上安装、调试、试运行。
