Return of the oppressed——An analysis of the anti-heroine in Margaret Atwood's works

Through the analysis of the anti--heroines within Atwood＇s works, this paper expounds At- wood＇s subversion and development of the paradigm in the characterization of women characters in Gothic Novels,and points out that the anti--heroines under the pen of Atwood turn out to be stronger than in traditional Gothic Novels, normal rather than being demonized,and even more energetic and creative than men,and that Atwood,in her fictional world, creates the possibility of constructing a complementary and constructive relationship between men and women.
