Relationship between Toll-like receptors and maternal-fetal immunotolerance

Toll样受体(TLRs)家族是一类进化保守的模式识别受体,激活TLRs不仅可以诱导天然免疫应答,而且有利于特异性免疫反应的发生,是天然免疫和获得性免疫反应的桥梁。妊娠期母胎界面存在极强的免疫反应,TLRs在妊娠相关组织中的表达可能在母胎免疫耐受中发挥了重要的作用,其活性可能影响妊娠结局。文章就TLRs在母胎界面的表达及其与病理妊娠的关系进行综述。

Toll-like receptors （TLRs） family is the evolution-conserved class of pattern recognition receptors. Activation of TLRs results in induction of innate immunity mechanisms as well as development of antigen-specific adaptive immune responses, thus bridging innate and adaptive immunity. There exist intensive immune responses on the maternal-fetal interface during gestation. The general expression of TLRs within gestation-associated tissues may play a fundamental role in maternal-fetal immunotolerance, and the activity of TLRs may have an impact on the outcomes of pregnancy. The expression of TLRs in maternal-fetal interface and the relationship between TLRs and pathologic pregnancy are reviewed in this paper.
