网络仿真技术是进行网络规划和设计的有效工具,但是如何有效地对通信系统进行建模仿真是一个富有挑战性的课题。介绍了一款优秀的网络仿真软件OPNET Modeler,并对其特点和仿真流程进行了深入的阐述,最后利用OPNET Modeler对一包交换网络进行建模仿真,得到业务的端对端延时结果和链路利用率,进而评估网络的性能,讲述了OPNET Modeler在网络规划和设计中的应用。

Network simulation technology is an efficient analysis tool to study the network project, and design. But how to model and simulate the communication system is a challenging task. In this paper an excellent software OPNET Modeler is introduced, which is about network simulation, the characteristic and simulation process of OPNET Modeler are also expatiated in derail. Finally, the OPNET Modeler is used to model and simulate a packet switching network, through which to get the result of end - to - end delay and link utilization ratio, then to evaluate the performance of the network. The application of OPNET Modeler in network project and design is discussed through the example.
