This paper approaches Ernest Hemingway＇s ＂big two-hearted river＂ from an ecocritical perspective. While trying to recover his inner peace in the wilderness, Nick finds himself driven towards a tragic adventure against nature. It reflects Hemingway＇s inner conflict between longing for a return to nature and attempting to challenge it.
