The single crystal of chloromercuriferrocene is obtained from methylene chloride solution. The crystal X ray structure of title compound is determined. It crystallizes in triclinic system. The C Hg Cl fragment is almost on a line. One half of ferrocene rings are in the eclipsed positions, the other are in the staggered positions.
