人的知识世代积累、相传成统。中国的宇宙观和文化总纲是天人合一。"天"主指自然,"人"指人的社会性。具自然和社会双重性的人,以自然和人的协调统一为宇宙观是科学的。遵循中华民族的理念、切实保护城市的自然和人文资源,学习和发展以借景为中心的传统理法,建设以中国特色为主体的风景园林,创造现代中国风景园林的传统是中国风景园林设计师的天职。

Human knowledge is accumulated and passed on through generations. The general principle of Chinese world view and culture is the harmony between the heaven and human. ＂Heaven＂ mainly refers to the nature and ＂human＂ refers to people＇s socialily. As people have both the natural and social properties, it is scientific to have the world view of the harmony belween the nature and human. It is the bounden duty of Chinese landscape architects to follow the philosophy of the Chinese people, ensure the protection of the city＇s natural and human resources, learn and develop the traditional theory and method with borrowing landscape as the center, construct landscape architecture with Chinese features as the main body, and create the tradition of Chinese modern landscape architecture.
