随笔(essay)是文学吗?如何从修辞学和诗学两个角度出发来界定随笔与艺术、哲学和人文科学之间的关系?随笔是否进行着知识的冒险从而来体验精神的自由?在法国巴黎举行的"随笔——自由的精神"学术论坛上,西方学者们就上述问题进行了学术交流。本文认为,了解最新欧美随笔研究中的焦点问题,将对中国现当代散文的理论建设有着积极的启示和借鉴意义。
