Revival of the CPC in the Early Phase of the War of Resistance Against The Japanese Aggression

20世纪30年代中后期,中国抗日战争的风云蔓延香港。奉命从内地到香港重新点燃火种的中共党人,串联起一度失去上级领导却仍坚持秘密工作的香港党员,重建中共在香港的各级地下党组织;同时动员香港各界人士开展抗日救亡运动,在香港学生赈济会等爱国团体中发展党员,扩大中共外围群众组织。这一切为中共在日军占领香港之后迅速开展港九游击战争,奠定了足资依托的组织基础。

In the middle and late 1930s winds of the War of Resistance Against the Japanese Aggression swept over Hong Kong. The Chinese Communists on their respective orders to go to Hong Kong from the inland of China for rekindling the fire contacted the Party members there who had lost contact with the leadership but carried on their secret activities and reestablished various levels of underground Party organizations in Hong Kong. Mean- while they mobilized personages of various circles in Hong Kong to carry out activities of resisting the Japanese invaders for national salvation, enrolled Party members from the Hong Kong Schools＇ Relief Committee and other patriotic groups and expanded the Party＇ s peripheral mass organizations. All these groundwork laid suifficient organizational basis for the CPC to launch guerilla warfare in Hong Kong and Kowloon as soon as the Japanese troops occupied them.
