《荒经》以下五篇是否在《汉书·艺文志》所载《山海经》13篇之内,向是研治此书的学者聚讼纷纭的焦点。从五个角度可以证明《荒经》不在《汉书·艺文志》所记13篇之列,而其资料应是来源于远古,宋人依据王室文献裒集整理而成。

Whether or not the five Books of Barbarian Countries is contained in the thirteen books of Classic of Mountains and Sea, as it was put down in the literature documents of han dynasty, ~ has long been the focus of scholarly arguments. It can be proved from five an- gels that the Books of Barbarian Countries was not included in the thirteen hooks. The materials were from ancient times, and the five books were compiled by some people from State Song of the Spring and Autumn times by referring to the royal documents.
