Outcomes of Three-north Forest Shelterbelt Program in Fourth Phase in Shaanxi and Corresponding Measures

三北防护林工程自实施以来,工程建设的质量、效益明显提高,造林成活率、保存率明显增加,森林面积不断增大,生态环境显著改观,社会生产能力显著增强,人民生活水平和经济收入稳步提高,在林业生态的护卫下,整个社会取得了长足发展。可以说,三北防护林工程为这些成就的取得不但奠定了坚实的生态基础,而且直接做出了巨大贡献。不但是今天,今后也是如此。随着工程建设的深入,三北防护林工程将发挥愈来愈明显的综合效益。近三十年的建设实践说明,三北工程是强国安邦的基础工程,治穷致富的德政工程,造福人类的责任工程。

Since the implementation of three north forest shelterbelt program, the quality and efficiency has been good, with higher survival rate and maintenance rate which lead to increasing area of forestation, improvement of ecological environment and rising of people＇s living standard. Three-north shelterbelt forest system contributes considerably to the ecological improvement in China. The comprehensive effects brought by the system will become more and more evident.
