The paper briefly describes the WDM and OTDM techniques in large capacity and super large capacity optical communication systems.We propose a novel method of employing modelocked fiber laser as the clock extractor in communication system,and present the structure for a totally new all optical OTDM experimental communication system that is based on the usage of a prescaled clock pulses scheme.
