摘要
继韩礼德对威廉.戈尔丁的The Inheritors(《继承者》)分析之后,及物性分析模式被越来越多地运用于文体分析中。通过对劳伦斯中篇小说《牧师的女儿们》进行及物系统分析,可展示作者对及物性系统的选择和该系统在人物刻画、情节组织以及主题表达方面的作用。实践证明,及物系统分析是揭示作品主题,挖掘美学效果的较好方法。
Following Halliday＇s influential analysis of William Golding＇s The Inheritors, many stylisticians have adopted transitivity model to investigate various types of discourses and proved it to be applicable and powerful to reveal the thematic and aesthetic significance of the texts. A transitivity analysis of D. H. Lawrence＇s novella--Daughters of the Vicar demonstrates how Lawrence depicts characters, arranges the plot and strengthens the theme through his linguistic choices.
