African-American woman writer Toni Morrison creates many black characters in her novels who have committed Bad Faith in order to get rid of anxiety imposed by the racial discriminated American socioty or to run away from responsibility to explore their own self-identity. This paper tries to classify them into three different kinds according to Sartre' s theory. The analysis shows how much the black have suffered psychologically in the white-dominated society and reflects the importance of the reconstruction of the culture and spirit of the black community.
