党的十六届四中全会提出了"社会主义和谐社会"的新命题,党的十七大再次强调了"促进和谐社会发展"的重要性。人是社会发展的主要因素,社会是由人组成的社会,人是社会中的人。人的发展成为构建和谐社会的关键,人的思想、品质,人格的静态和谐以及人与自身、人与外部世界的动态和谐,都体现了和谐社会的重要内涵。培养"和谐人"是我国走向和谐社会的必然选择。

At the Fourth Plenary Session of the Sixteenth Central Committee of Chinese Communist Party, a new topic of the harmonious society of socialism was put forward. After that, at the Seventeenth Central Committee, comrade Hu Jintao re-emphasized the importance of developing harmonious society. Man is the main factor of social development,and society is made up of men, who live in the society. Therefore, the development of man is the key to building a harmonious society. Static harmony in a man＇s quality, ideas and personality and the dynamic harmony between a man and himself and outside world embody the important connotation about harmonious society. Accordingly, ＂harmonious man＂is the necessary selection of the path to harmonious society in China.
