"虚实"是中国古典文论中一个核心的元范畴,历经千年发展和演变,含义极其丰富,艺术价值深远。近30年来古代文论界主要是从虚实的哲学渊源、发展演变、美学特质、形成原因、表现层面、中西对比等方面进行的,在虚实发展与比兴、妙悟、意境等范畴的关系,虚实范畴的文学转向及研究方法上等方面,还有很大的开拓空间。

Xu and Shi are central and basic categories in classic Chinese literary theories. Having developed over thousands of years, they have expanded their meaning and artistic value. The study on Xu and Shi in the last thirty years focuses on their philosophical origin, evolution, aesthetic features, causes, manifestation, and contrast between China and the western world. They can be further studied in their literary diversion, research methods and so on.
