贞观治世有无酷吏

Is there any Merciless Officials during Zhenguan Period

在史书中,酷吏专指那些用法深刻,刑罚峻酷的古代官吏。两唐书《酷吏传》认为唐朝前三帝统治时期,尤其是贞观治世时期,唐朝没有酷吏。事实上由于隋末暴政的遗风尚存,再加上刑名学说的影响等原因,即使是在贞观时期,也不乏酷吏暴虐的身影。封建史家受以史为鉴的限制,特意树立唐太宗的帝王榜样,对其冷酷屠杀和任用酷吏等使用避讳的手法。贞观治世"无酷吏"的说法实属溢美之词,与历史史实并不相符。

In the history books, Merciless Officials refers specifically to those who used a deep, steep penalties for officials. In the ＂ Merciless Officials Biography ＂ of Both Tang Book, It is said that during the reigns of the Tang former three emperors, especially Zhenguan period, there was no Merciless Officials. However,it is overstated and not in line with the historical facts. In fact, during Zhenguan period, there were still some tyrannical figures of Merciless Officials.
