This paper detailedly discusses a variety of influence factors in total nitrogen measurement, such as water in experiment, vessels washing, laboratory environment, purification, formulation and preservation of reagent, control of humidity, pressure and time in digestion, total nitrogen measurement in water sample with high ammonia nitrogen, simultaneous measurement of total nitrogen and total phosphorus, and other related problems. It also puts forward the corresponding solutions.
