论影视字幕的翻译方法

The Application of Reductive Form of Translation in Movie Subtitle Translation

文章运用奈达的"功能对等"理论,分析如何使影视字幕翻译能够顺利地被目标语观众接受,以期达到与原语观众类似的观看效果;由于受到时间、空间、图像的制约,在影视字幕翻译中要大量使用缩略法。缩减法在翻译中可分为三种:压缩性意译(reductive paraphra-sing)、简化(simplification)和删除(deletion)。

Movie, a part of mass media, has put forward different requirements for movie subtitle translation due to its own way of information dissemination. Nida＇ s ＂Functional Equivalence＂ theory is adopted to analyze movie subtitle translation with the conclusion： due to the constraints of time,space and picture,the reductive form of translation shall be widely applied in movie subtitle translation in order to achieve roughly functional equivalence with the original audience.
