随着国际文化交流活动的日益活跃,越来越多的英文电影进入中国市场。如何给英文电影冠以一个精彩贴切的中文片名,就成了吸引观众视线,取得票房利润的先决所在。本文在对大量译例进行深入分析的基础上探讨了英文电影片名翻译常用的五种方法,即音译、直译、意译、编译和扩译。

With the development of international cultural exchange, more and more English films were introduced into Chinese market. How to give an appropriate name to a film is the prerequisite condition for drawing the audiences＇ interests and acquiring box-office receipts. On the basis of the research into many examples, this paper brings forward five methods that are frequently used in film title transtion： transliteration, literal translation, flee translation, translation plus editing and amplification.
