1997年中国原油和成品油进口量分别增加到3547和2380万吨,进口量合计接近6000万吨;石油净进口量上升到3385万吨,比上年增加144％,约占国内油品消费总量的20％。原油出口量下降2.8％,进口来源进一步多样化。成品油出口增长33.9％;在进口来源中,韩国和日本成品油所占比例大幅上升,新加坡油所占比例下降。1997年国内石油市场受国际市场影响较大,轻柴油进口对国内市场的冲击尤为突出。

In 1997, China' s exports of crude oil and oil products increased to 35.47 Mt and 23. 80 Mt respectively, and oil imports totaled almost 60 Mt. Net oil imports climbed to 33. 85 Mt, an increase of 144% over the previous year's, about 20% of total domestic consumption of oil products. Crude exports dropped by 2.8%, and oil product exports were up 33. 9 % from these of the previous year; with imports coming from more diversified sources. The proportion of oil products imports from Korea and Japan increased sharply, while those from Singapore decreased. In 1997, the international petroleum market greatly influenced China's domestic market, with gas oil imports having the greatest impact.
