山西吕梁方言咸山一等今白读及元音高化

Colloquial Readings of Level 1 of MC Xian(咸)-Shan(山) Final Groups and Vowel Raising of Lüliang Dialects in Shanxi Province

山西吕梁方言分布于山西西部，辖15个市县。该片咸山见系舒声字今白读大体保持着一二等的分别：一等为[^＊ ]，二等为[^＊a]，三四等同一等。一等字的声母有不同程度的颚化，是由于主要元音高化引起的。有的方言一等字的主要元音已为高化为Ⅲ，将来有可能与三等字合流。

The cluster of Lvliang dialects covers 15 cities/counties in western Shanxi province. It keeps the divisions of levels 1 and 2 in the colloquial readings of the shusheng words with initials of jian （见） and finals of xian-shan： the vowel of level 1 is [^＊ ] and level 2 is [^＊a] while the ease of levels 3 and 4 is the same as that of level 1. The initials of the level 1 words are differently palatalized, which is caused by raising of the main vowels. In some dialects, the main vowel has been raised to [i], which may be merged into level 3 in the future.
