Discussion on the Instrumental Thinking in Contemporary Architectural Design

工具型思维分为数学解析、图式引导、系统生成和概念演绎等四种类型,通过每个类型对案例进行分析,指出工具型思维帮助建筑师以合理的方式表达当代建筑的复杂性,同时也显示了建筑设计向多学科融合方向发展的趋势。

This paper sorts out the instrumental thinking into four types： mathematic analysis, diagram guidance, systematic generation and concept deduction, etc. which is accompanied respectively with case studies. It points out that the instrumental thinking could help architects to express the complexity of contemporary architecture in rational way, and shows us the trend of architectural design development towards multidisciplinary assimilation.
