Abstract Commenting on the academic thought, theoretical source and real background, this article considers that the important meaning of “new money economics” for the research of finance discipline lies in that it enables the rethinking of traditional theory and a deeper understanding of money itself. “new money economics” also has its far-reaching impacts on practical monetary policies.
