In the process of the development of market economy,government still need to play a role in its intervention in relevant fields. The study shows that it is not only feasible but necessary to enforce the role of government in its intervention of the development of sports industry and monitoring of sports industry. The government should exert its efforts in establishing a fair, steady and transparent policy environment, providing a stable situation for investors, maintaining the order of market economy and providing effective public goods and services and legal guarantees so as to create a good environment for the development of sports industry and economic growth, to make up for the temporary failure of the market and to ensure the sustainable growth of sports industry.
