The Moral Law:Possibility of Living a Moral Life

道德律是人们道德地生活的基本法则,唯有道德律才能提供一种道德生活,也才能使道德生活成为可能。我们的时代缺乏对我们生活的准则是否合乎道德法则的检视,康德的实践理性的基本法则——道德律给我们提供了可资思考的维度。康德实践理性的基本法则指出了一种道德地生活的可能性。道德是人之为人应有的生活方式,只有严格的道德规范,只有过一种严格的道德生活才是国民当下的道德选择,而伦理研究者的责任则尤为重要。

The moral law is the basic principle guiding people to living a moral life; only the moral law can guarantee some sort of moral life, i.e. , making a moral life possible. The moral law--the basic principle of Kant＇s practical reason--provides us with a thought-provoking perspective in our time characterized by a lack of examination of whether we live according to moral principles. Based on a comparison of Chinese and western ethics, this paper attempts to interpret the basic principle of Kant＇s practical reason and its implications for our time in which a moral life is still possible in that morality is the necessity for man living as man; a rigid moral law and a strict moral life constitute the only moral choice made by our people today. All of this makes more important the responsibility shouldered by the researchers of ethics.
