According to the porblems existing in the reformation of frequency converters for use with an oil pumping set, the paper makes a theoretic analysis of the AFE technology, control characteristics and the method to set technical parameters. The AFE can improve the performance of a frecuency converter, increase the efficiency of an oil pumping set and save energy. The significance of its application is also described.
