摘要
甲午战后,国势日微,为提高国民素质以救危亡成为当务之急。在此急切心态下,为学堂培养教师的师范教育非常重视速成。不仅缩短教师养成时间,在师范教师的聘请、课程的设置和学生的资格上无一不有特殊规定。师范教育讲求速成,虽有弊端,但对晚清学堂的迅速发展却也有其重要贡献。
Mter the Sino-Japanese War of 1894 - 1895, Chinag national power was getting weaker. It was urgent to improve the citizen's quality for national salvation. Under such circumstances, teacher-training paid great attention to its speeded-up characteristics. The time for training was shortened and special rules were made concerning the engaging of teachers for teacher-education, the courses offered and the qualifications of students. There were disadvanta- ges in the speeded-up training of teachers, but it made great contributions to the rapid development of schools in late Qing dynasty.
