Philip Roth has described an ordinary person' s life experience in a flashback in Everyman. After experiencing so many miseries in body and soul, everyman had terrible feeling of approaching death, but he overcame the dread and fear with great braveness and confronted death with the tranquility. Everyman' s life manifests the living condition of human being,by this way to show the author' s identification and acceptance of death. Death is the end of life, but the meaning of life is everything. Roth connects everyman' s life with the destiny of human being and explores the ultimate meaning of human being' s life.
