This paper discusses the role of male feminist intellectuals in the women's suffrage movement in England. Male feminist fore-runners resisted the pressure of being accused as traitors of the male dominated kingdom. They were active in the organizing of the women's suffrage movement, making immense contribution to the promotion of women's political participation. From the middle of the 19th Century to the early 20th century, these male advocates of women's political participation supported women's suffrage demands to move from local initiatives to more centrally organized movement and from demanding women's constitutional rights to fighting for liberation. The guiding thinking of this movement also moved from being under the influence of liberalism to becoming more in affinity to socialism. In 1928, women in England won their equal suffrage rights and this victory encompasses the efforts of several genera- tions of male advocates for women's political participation.
