Contemporary Hermeneutics think that the text is an open meaningful world, which could be re-understanding and be re-created again and again. Inspired by this, I had found that there were two meaningful narrative arrangements in Nathaniel Hawthome＇s ＂ the Scarlet Letter＂. They were ＂the staying of Prynne＂ and ＂the death of priest＂. Nathaniel Hawthorne, because of the clever narrative, created the un-destruetire literature value for this novel. This is an article to explore and explain the wisdom and strategy of Nathaniel Hawthorne when he had arranged those two meaningful narrative events.
