In 2008,the export of China steel products experienced a splendid period of fast growing,and then disappointedly followed by fast depression.Until last December, China in 2008 exported steel products of 59.21 million tons,less than the same term in 2007 by 3.48 million tons,declining about 5.6%.Meanwhile,China imported steel products of 15.38 million tons,less than 2007 by 1.49 million tons,declining 8.8%. The net export of the whole year of 2008 had reached 4382.5 million tons,declining 4.3%compared with last year.We could say that,China still kept achieving good results of steel export in 2008.But the export situation in 2009 would not be so optimistic, because it will be faced with large challenges as follows.
