以高适、岑参为代表作家的盛唐边塞诗是产生于特定历史时期的、具有特殊意义的文化现象,是"盛唐气象"的重要表征。盛唐边塞诗这种文化现象所蕴涵的人文精神突出体现为人性的张扬。盛唐边塞诗的意义可归总为三个方面,即边塞情怀、边塞风物和边塞战事。边塞情怀的核心是功业情怀。功业情怀具有两面性。边塞风物的特点是雄奇壮伟。高、岑的战争诗并非纪实,他们的战争观可概括为胜概和非战。
