In accordance with Gramsci＇ s understanding on new characteristics of political superstructure in the Western countries, he maintained that the proletariat in west should seize cultural hegemony of the bourgeois progressively in civil society thus achieving complete success eventually in the cause of socialist revolution. On these grounds Gramsci held that the key points of revolutionary strategy should be revised from ＂war of movement＂ to ＂war of position＂.
