Qiu Dongping' s anti-Japanese novels describe the raging gunfire in the battle field, but don' t simply represent the battles in the front. His novels exaggerate the heoric theme , but don' t convey the prevailing political views. His novels create heroes, but not for the purpose of presenting such binary oppositions as "good" and "bad", "brave" and "effete". He aims to surpass the literary utilitarianism and disclose the nature of war and the character' s psychology in the war, conveying the war' s devastating individuals and the variation of human nature. In the anti-Japanese literature pattern full of political ethos, Qiu Dongping' s novels are unique and more valuable.
