In this article, the author analyzes the current development status and future position of Russian fighters in the world. He points out that the overall combat capabilily of Russian military aircraft currently equipped is not underestimated. Although Russian economical crisis has made some new programs of fighters be canceled or delayed, the Su-27 and Mig-29 still is two of the strongest fighters in the world and have great upgraded potentialities. Meanwhile, Russian never stop to develop new technologies for future fighters and still held a technological superiority in military aircraft design field. The Russian future fighter programs and upgrading exsisting programs are introduced.
