The engine has the three - stage LP compressor, five stage - HP compressor, combustor with the airblast atomizers, single - stage heavily ?loaded H P turbine, single - stage LP turbine and convergent - divergent afterburner system. It is expected to conduct the first flight of the LCA with the GTX - 35VS possible in 2000. The paper also discusses the concurrent engineering approach used in the engine design and development.
