摘要
通过对计算机视觉４０年来研究的回顾，对计算机视觉发展前景作了展望。认为Ｅｄｅｌ－ｍａｎ根据洛克对表象概念的定义提出“无重建的表象也许是极端的目的主义者（Ｂｒｏｏｋｓ）无表象的视觉与占统治地位的无目的的重建主义之间的合理的折中”的建议，为计算机视觉研究摆脱困境找出了一条可行的路。
Reviews and prospects the research on computer vision, agreeing with Edelmans suggestion that “representation without reconstruction” seems to constitute a resonable compromise between the extreme version of the purposive vision credo which paraphrasing Brooks, is vision without representation, and the reigning paradigm of reconstruction without purpose.
