Technological Innovation and the Power of Capitalist Economy

在资本主义经济中,技术创新的产生与资本增殖的需要密不可分。随着资本积累和剩余资本的大量出现,资本主义需要加快技术创新以吸收经济剩余。技术创新的周期与资本主义经济增长的周期波动存在着紧密的联系。资本主义经济中的技术创新围绕着资本增殖的需要而产生和发展,其社会效益不能得到充分的发挥。技术创新为资本主义经济发展提供了动力,但仍不能克服经济增长的低速和周期波动。

In capitalist economy technological innovation is closely related to the capital＇s needs to increase in value. With the accumulation of capital and appearance of large quantity of surplus capital, there arises the need to accelerate technological innovation in order to absorb the economic surplus. The cycle of technological innovation goes in parallel with the cycle of economic growth. As technological innovation in the capitalist economy centers around the need for value increase of the capital, the social benefits of technology innovation is very often not fully realized. Thus, while technological innovation provides power for the capitalist economic development, it cannot change the low economic growth rate or resist the cyclical economic fluctuation.
