An Interview With Li Xiangqun

李象群的作品虽是写实风格的,但并不是对自然的模拟,其所关注、表现的重要历史人物之艺术切点,是以写实的表象表现出了更为深层的隐含,而这个隐含又以象征、意指等方式出现。因此,就李象群的艺术方式,本刊从作品所阐释的问题,出发点、思考方式,以及材料、教学等方面对李象群进行了访谈。

Although Li Xiangqun＇s works are in figurative style,they are not the imitation of nature.His artistic starting point or attention,in representation of the great historical figures,is to convey the innermost implication with the concealment of the outer appearance.The concealment is appeared in the way of symbolic and indicative approach.With regard to his artistic means, we talked with Li Xiangqun about his works＇ themes,starting-point,way of thinking,as well as his understanding of materials and education.
