The Correlation between Traditional and Modern Sculpture Languages

现代雕塑造型语汇纷杂,视觉冲击眩目,它们的创作灵感离不开传统雕塑。在探讨这个问题前有必要回顾的雕塑发展史,从雕塑历史的进程中探讨并逐步找出传统雕塑和现代雕塑艺术概念的几个重要方面和层次,从雕塑艺术的发展史来入手,分析从初期的模仿发展到艺术再现,再至艺术表现,直至观念性艺术的出现,这个时间递进的变化过程必然有其客观的内在联系和合理的内在动力。

Contemporary sculpture is abundant in eye-catching vocabularies and dynamic forms,but its creative inspiration could not have come into existence without the benefit of traditional sculpture.There is a need to review the history of sculpture before we can talk about some important aspects of modern sculpture and its tradition.Starting with the history,we can get to understand the objective interrelation and internal driving force of the logical development of sculpture which has gone through imitation to representation, and to expression,then to the arrival of conceptual art.
