The Holocaust has remained a nightmare in humankind's collective memory,and the representation of the Holocaust has vibrated between the two extremes of inhibition and indulgence.The American culture at the turn of the century is marked with a peculiar phenomenon of 'the Americanization of the Holocaust',which has widely claimed critical attention.This essay aims to contextualize this cultural phenomenon so as to tentatively reveal the inner connections between post-Holocaust narratives and postmodern American identity politics.
