NGAL Expression in 83 Cases with Colorectal Cancer and Its Clinical Significance

摘要 [目的]探讨NGAL在结、直肠癌组织中的表达及其临床意义。[方法]应用免疫组化法检测NGAL在83例结、直肠癌及癌旁正常组织中的表达,分析其与结、直肠癌临床病理特征及预后的关系。[结果]NGAL在结、直肠癌组织中的阳性表达率为55.4%,明显高于在相应癌旁正常组织中的表达(P<0.001),NGAL表达与结、直肠癌分化程度、Dukes分期、淋巴结转移、脉管侵犯(P<0.05)有关,而与患者年龄、性别、部位、肿瘤直径、肿瘤大体形态、病理类型、癌性肠梗阻无关(P>0.05)。单因素生存分析显示NGAL阳性表达组5年无复发生存率低于阴性组,差异有统计学意义(P=0.022)。[结论]NGAL阳性表达与结、直肠癌浸润、转移、预后不良有关,NGAL可能是结、直肠癌早期诊断、监测复发的潜在生物学参考指标。 [Purpose] To explore the NGAL expression in colorectal cancer and its clinical significance. [Methods] The NGAL expression of cancer tissues and their adjacent was detected of immunohistochemically in 83 cases with colorectal cancer tissues. Its relationship with clinicopathological features and prognosis was analyzed. [Results] The positive rate of NGAL expression in colorectal cancer tissues was 55.4%, which was significantly higher than that in the adjacent tissues (P〈0.001). NGAL expression significantly correlated with cell differentiation, Dukes' stage, lymph node metastases and vascular involvement (P〈0.05); however, no significance with age, sex, location and size of tumor, gross morphous, pathological type and the presence of cancerous ileus (P〉0.05). Five years disease-free survival in patients with positive expression of NGAL was lower than that in patients with negative expression (P=0.022) by univariate survival analysis. [Conclusion] The positive expression of NGAL closely correlated with invasion, metastasis and poor prognosis of colorectal cancer. NGAL might be a potential biomarker for the early diagnosis and monitoring recurrence for colorectal cancer.
